We Know All Things Work for Good for…

It is funny how God works. This is Jae Rivera of CT Beds, a newly established non-profit in the business of making and providing beds for those transitioning out of homelessness, community shelters, and support programs of various kinds. CT Beds, Inc. and Linens of Love, Inc. have been exploring how they can support each other’s mission. LOL received a call on Friday from an individual looking for a place to donate two brand new mattresses that were sent to him in error. He was told the correct items would be sent, and he could keep the ones sent in error. He had no need for these and found us after doing a Google search. We do not have storage space for such big items, but we remembered that Jae makes beds and is always in need of mattresses. Meanwhile, we received a call from a case worker regarding a young woman who had aged out of foster care and is moving into her own apartment. She is in need of all things to make a home of her new living space. She does not have a bed. So, just as though there was some pre-ordained plan - a bed from Jae; a mattress from a good soul; and sheets, a blanket and comforter, a pillow, towels, toiletries, and some kitchen items all came together at the right moment to help this young woman in need.

It is not uncommon that we see the God’s providence guiding what we do, from buying items to restock our shelves or receiving donations of items just as, unknowingly to us, a request is about to come in!
